Say hello to Wessie, the friendly face of the Wessex Folk Festival! With his big grin and happy dancing feet, Wessie’s all about good times, community vibes, and the love of folk music. No one quite remembers where Wessie came from — his origin has been lost in the myths of time — but one thing’s for sure: he’s here to bring smiles and get everyone moving at the festival. Keep an eye out for Wessie popping up everywhere, spreading the festival spirit!
A special highlight this year was Wessie, our beloved festival logo character, who was brilliantly brought to life in paint by the talented Grown-Up Painters Workshop. The finished artwork captured the spirit of the weekend and was auctioned at the close of the festival—raising a considerable amount for festival funds. It added a wonderful splash of creativity to the festivities, and there’s no doubt that a lot of fun was had by all! Here is Wessy at his new home on Portland!
