The Fringe

Wessex Folk Festival, Weymouth – The Fringe

A Celebration of Creativity and Community

Wessex Folk Festival has always been about bringing people together, music and dance echoing across Weymouth’s harbourside, stories shared, friendships made and traditions kept alive.  As one of the few free folk festivals in the country, it depends entirely on the generosity and spirit of its community.  To help keep it that way, we’re launching something entirely new: The Fringe.

The Fringe will be a vibrant series of smaller, intimate ticketed events, designed to capture the heart of folk culture while raising vital funds to support the main free festival. Think of quieter, more personal events in a tucked-away venue and just steps away from the vibrancy of the main stages.  Here you’ll experience creative encounters that remind us why folk music belongs to everyone.

By joining us at The Fringe, you’ll not only enjoy something special and close-up, but you’ll also help ensure that the main festival returns next year. Every ticket sold helps ensure that Wessex Folk Festival remains free and open to all – a celebration of music for everyone regardless of means.  Join us – celebrate, contribute and keep the music playing.  Limited tickets available for each event.

Come be part of the story – celebrate, contribute and keep the festival alive.
