Amy Hopwood & Friends

Following the release of her critically acclaimed album “Gone to flowers” in February, Amy has teamed up with two excellent musicians for live performances this summer. Sherida Katerina joins her on violin and Siubhan O’Neill on double bass, with both of them providing additional vocals to help create the sublime harmonies Amy’s recorded music is known for. Amy loves to get the audience laughing and singing along one moment, and then maybe a little misty eyed the next, so you can expect an eclectic selection of her own extraordinary songs alongside some more traditional folk. Her new album “Gone to flowers” has been receiving glowing reviews and been played by a whole host of national and international folk DJs including Mark Radcliffe on BBC Radio 2 and Frank Hennessy on BBC Radio Wales.
Tim Laycock & Alastair Braidwood

Esteemed folk singer and musician Tim Laycock is joined by Alastair Braidwood to sing traditional songs in glorious harmony, play toe-tapping local tunes and tell amusing stories of times gone by. Both men are actors and storytellers in their own rights, and their performances are always entertaining as well as educational.
Spindrift

Spindrift are a Weymouth based folk trio featuring Chris Reid, accordion and concertina, Penny Davies, Irish flute, whistle and recorder and Peter Munz, vocals, guitar and fiddle. Peter and Chris are longstanding stalwarts of the local Weymouth scene, with Penny joining more recently. They can be heard playing each week at the Cove Inn, Portland and the Sailors’ Return folk Nite every Wednesday. Their music focuses on traditional tunes and folk songs.
Wacapella

Wacapella are a women’s acapella choir from here in sunny Weymouth. They lift each other’s spirits every Friday morning and look forward to doing the same for the WFF audience. This year they are keen to share the story of the part played by Lion and Unicorn in the loss of King George the Third’s sceptre. A little known (and possibly quite tall – who knows?) story
Chimneyfish

A Dorset-based acoustic musical duo, Chimneyfish are a rustic mix of folk, rock’n’roll, country and jazz. Highly individual and very entertaining. Their material is a musical autobiography punctuated by loss, love, sex, booze, redemption and moving ever onwards
