Latest News – Cancellation

Dear Friends

This notice is a difficult one to share.

We have had to make the decision we were hoping so much that we wouldn’t have to make –  we have had to cancel Wessex Folk Festival 2021, which was due to run over the weekend 4th – 6th June this year.

On behalf of this hard-working committee let me tell you that although the decision was forced upon us by the Government’s Roadmap, which doesn’t allow for public gatherings until late June, we all feel that it is a necessary and right step for us to take.

We are thinking hard about how to bring you some music over the summer, and how to support the musicians that we have had to lose from this year’s Festival.  Just as soon as we can, we will run a few gigs from some of those musicians and bands and we will make sure that you are kept in touch.

Make sure that you check our website from time to time – all the information will be there.

You can be sure that the first weekend in June next year will see us back with the most popular street festival in the Southwest.  In the meantime, we will be working to move the Festival forward to even bigger and better things in 2022.

Thank you all for your support.

Wessex Folk Festival Committee.
