The Portland Coves

A high energy tunes trio (whistles, guitars and stringy things, percussion) formed from sessions at the Cove House in Portland.  Music from the UK and Ireland, Brittany and the Iberian peninsula that you can both dance and listen to; extend you enjoyment through our two CDs.

Dorset Wrecks

Formed in 2013 DORSET WRECKS sea shanty group had their first gig when 5 of the initial 6 members sang in the harbour on MV Freedom to support them in taking disabled people for sea cruises from Weymouth. Dorset Wrecks had 65 gigs in 2019.

Ken Watkins

Ken Watkins has been performing around the south-west for many years, including long-term collaborations with Simon Swarbrick and Robbie McIntosh. As well as acoustic guitar, Ken plays banjo and ukulele and is well-known for his eclectic repertoire, which always makes his performances dynamic and interesting; there is always something for everyone. With a passionate and sensitive portrayal of songs and his trademark sense of humour, Ken never fails to entertain an audience

MoonFleet the Band

Forget the Hotel or the Boat or even the book its Moonfleet the Band on the Harbourside stage to get your feat tapping. Band Members are from the Weymouth area and are experienced musicians giving you folk, some rock and those recognisable tunes mixed with some great vocals. The Band play to support local charities.

Take some bluesy harmonica and slide guitar; mix it with fretless bass and a well-seasoned ukulele; stir in some jazzy clarinet and add a dash of wind synthesiser.  Top off with vocals and you have the perfect recipe for a performance to get your feet tapping, your vocal chords singing and a smile on your face.

Bob Carter

Performing instrumental fingerstyle in a variety of styles (and tunings), Bob’s been playing guitar since a time when he’s sure he remembers having more hair and was a founder member of groundbreaking Scottish folk-funk-ska-reggae-jazz band the Tartan Amoebas in the early 90s.
